How a Gas Boiler Operates
A gas boiler works by funneling the water that’s running throughout your plumbing system over gas burners. As the water continuously travels through these pipes heated up by the burner flames, the water grows increasingly hotter until it’s warm enough to sustain centralized heating and hot water whenever needed in your home. This allows you to get all your cleaning and washing done easily and relax in your warm home whenever you want.
When your house gets too chilly for your liking, as determined by the heating setting you input into your thermostat, it signals that the boiler needs to power on and commence its operations. From this signal, hot water begins to circulate from the boiler to each radiator in your home. While you may need to add more water from time to time if there are areas of water loss within the circuit—this is the same water cycling through.
This process occurs so the boiler can ultimately heat the radiators by using the water in your plumbing to carry the heat over to it. Therefore, it keeps the temperature of your home environment more or less consistent. Our staff offers gas boiler repair services in areas of Virginia such as Burke, Alexandria, Reston, Arlington, Centreville, and Annandale. Our technicians have the tools necessary to fix a problem with your boiler or radiator heating system.
Hot Water Distribution
Besides raising the temperature in your home, hot water can be an end product for washing dishes, doing laundry, showering, taking a bath, or washing your hands. It works the same way as how your central heating system would with the help of a boiler. It circulates the water and heats it over gas flames. This is accomplished by creating instant hot water in a combi boiler or heating the tank’s water. This is the case with heat-only boilers. Our team of technicians offers gas boiler repair services and is committed to resolving the issue with your system. Give our staff a call by phone at (703) 543-9649 to receive help with an inefficient boiler.
4 Benefits of Installing a Gas Boiler in Your Home
Natural gas boilers are one of the most popular choices for getting hot water because of all the great benefits.
Save money by switching to a natural gas boiler. Natural gas is a cheaper U.S. fuel choice, generally because its energy source tends to be domestic. Gas boiler repair services are also more inexpensive relative to other types of boilers. This should leave more money in your pocket in times of trouble.
Not only is natural gas more affordable, but you need less of it to heat water compared to how much energy you would consume with other fuel alternatives such as electricity. With less energy being used up, you’re doing your part to minimize your household’s carbon footprint.
Reliable Warm Water
Wouldn’t it be inconvenient to run out of hot water when the power goes out? An advantage of performing a gas boiler repair or installation is access to warm water when the electricity is out. Gas lines aren’t affected by electrical outages or oil shortages, so you should be good to cook, wash, or bathe even when the lights are out.
The great thing about natural gas as an energy source is that you don’t have to install a clunky holding tank at your house. You can just tap into the existing municipal gas line infrastructure, and you’re all set. Our team of contractors provides respectable gas boiler repair solutions to households and is dedicated to improving your access to hot water.

Updates to the Regional HVAC Equipment Efficiency and Testing Standards
Effective January 1, 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will update its efficiency and testing standards for residential and commercial HVAC equipment. All regulatory changes will differ by product type and region. Since the updated standards will result in price increases across all HVAC contractors, now is the time to buy the equipment you need for your home or business.
The minimum efficiency standards for residential and commercial air conditioners and heat pumps manufactured after January 1, 2023, will increase. This change will increase production efficiency and national energy savings while decreasing national energy consumption.
Northern U.S. & Canada
All split-system air conditioners, split-system heat pumps, and packaged units manufactured after January 1, 2023, must meet the updated standards. However, split-system air conditioners, split-system heat pumps, and packaged units manufactured before January 1, 2023, can be installed indefinitely. The efficiency rating for air conditioners will increase from 13 SEER to 15 SEER in these regions.
Split-system air conditioners manufactured before January 1, 2023, can’t be installed once the updated standards take effect. All installations of products that don’t meet the new standards must be completed by December 31, 2022. However, split-system heat pumps, single-packaged air conditioners, and single-packaged heat pumps manufactured after January 1, 2023, can be installed indefinitely. The efficiency rating for air conditioners will increase from 14 SEER to 15 SEER in both the Southwest and Southeast regions.
In addition to higher minimum efficiency standards, the M1 testing procedures used for residential and 3 to 5-ton light commercial, single-phase equipment manufactured on or after January 1, 2023, will increase. This change will produce more accurate SEER, EER, and HSPF efficiency ratings. Manufacturers will be required to re-test equipment using the new M1 Standard requirements as well as publish equipment efficiency ratings using the new efficiency metrics of SEER2, EER2, and HSPF2.
